Welcome to Backinasaddle.com.!

This site was created with love and support for a friend who lost her legs in a horrible car accident. Santanna Marrocco was only 24 years old at the time and her life was forever changed by the actions, and then chain reactions that followed on a late afternoon in December 2010. She is a survivor, a fighter and she desperately wants nothing more than ever to ride her horses. To make that happen we hosted an event in her honor on Sunday November 25th, 2012.

The event was a huge success. Stewart Mcquires Landing in Bolton was packed. Motion Device provided some fabulous heavy, hard rockin' band music and the lead singer (who is 10 years old) has the makings of being the next Janis Joplin! Visit their Facebook page to see some great shots of the event.

Shortly after, Kenny and Coop took to the stage with their acoustic guitars and rocked the house with good ol music that we all love to sing along with (Margarritville, Hotel California, King of the Road etc). Ken Harris' first professional gig was none other than as the opening act for the Mamas and Papas at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1967 and Coop's fist live appearance was none other then 2012 at Santanna's fundraiser event. Additionally Kenny and Coop learned "forever and ever, amen" and dedicated the special song that carries great meaning to Santanna.

The evening entertainment ended with a local favorite, The Dusty Roads Band. There was no dust on these guys!, They provided some amazing music to close off the evening.

The Silent auction was a great success and all items donated were taken home by the attendees and as the night came to a close and a quick tally was done we had raised $9900.

A great big thank you goes out to our sponsors of the event and below is a note from Santanna herself to everyone who attended, supported and promoted the event

Santanna and the lead singer of Motion Device

" Wow !!!!!!!! It was so amazing to see and feel the love tonight !!! I cannot thank EVERYONE enough for all the love and support tonight and every night leading up to tonight !!! It was amazing to see everyone that came out family, friends, old and new, and neighbors !!! I was reunited with some old friends and that is amazing!!!! Thanx guys !!! Many crappy things came out of the accident but tonight was one of the most amazing nights !! The only thing I regret is not being able to spend more time with each and every one of you !!! I love you all and could not be near as strong without you !!! Thank you again !!! Xoxox"

Donations continue to poor in on the indiegogo.com campaign site and media outlets are now beginning to take part in sharing Santanna's inspirational story. The Toronto Star published a full page article on Sunday and then follow up story on thestar.com Tuesday November 27th. CBC News Toronto ran the story on Sunday on both the radio and the 11:00 news, The local papers Caledon Citizen and Caledon Enterprise both ran articles previous to the event and made an appearance at the event so stay tuned for more updates to the media page on this site. Visit the media page to read the stories that have already been published.
